The School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology has an opening for a Senior Research Project Coordinator. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining consistent and efficient operation of the administrative aspects of ongoing research projects while remaining in compliance with applicable study and IACUC protocols, department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines.

Collaborate with the Program Manager, SOP Administrator/Archivist, Study Director, and/or Research Laboratory Supervisor to ensure the integrity of pre-clinical data through regular review all raw data collected for completeness and documentation errors, communicate omissions and errors to laboratory staff for correction, and transfer data from paper to electronic format.
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external dissemination. Maintain and update training files for all division personnel. Provide initial training documentation to incoming employees and distribute updated SOPs and training lists.
Ensure proper organization and security of the division archive, and archive all study materials at the conclusion of each project. Assist with keeping performance metrics for laboratory staff up to date and provide reports as needed.
Coordinate shipping of study materials between collaborators, subcontractors, and/or sponsors; which may include shipping of hazardous materials or biological samples.
Maintain familiarity with study and IACUC protocols; request and assist with amendments as necessary. Assist in maintaining schedules for each study.
Assist with documentation of laboratory deviations and unanticipated events, identification of root cause, and solution implementation.
Participate in inspections and/or audits by internal groups, sponsors, and/or regulatory agencies as necessary. Assist in preparing responses to internal and external audits as necessary. Assist with preparing budgets, grants, or contract proposals as necessary.
Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes. Maintain record and follow-up on action items assigned and their completion. Prepare weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual reports for internal and external dissemination.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, chemistry, biology, public health, psychology or related to the research of the laboratory.
Experience: Two (2) years of research coordination experience with at least one (1) year in research specialization.
Preferred: Laboratory experience, previous GLP and study coordinating experience.
Other: May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be detail oriented and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple complicated and continuing assignments in a timely manner.
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and experience with following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
Understanding of good animal husbandry, care, and handling.
Ability to network with, and provide information to key groups and individuals.
Ability to understand and utilize scientific/medical terminology and research theory in both oral and written communications.
Skill in statistical interpretation and data analysis using statistical software as well as spreadsheet, database, and word processing software applications.
