We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director - Accounts Payable.
This position is responsible for assisting in the overall planning, organization, direction and control of the Accounts Payable Department within Disbursements Services. The Director of Accounts Payable is responsible for the day-to-day operations, strategic direction and new business development for the AP Department. The Director will oversee the entire life-cycle of the transaction from the time and invoice is received until the payment is processed. Key areas of responsibility include Accounts Payable, and interacting with the Sourcing Department and Data Management organization to leverage system capabilities and improve processes. The Director will be responsible for interacting with Hospital and School administration to facilitate disbursements, resolve vendor issues and monitor the match exception process. Duties and responsibilities of the Director include, but are not limited to: 1) operational direction and vision of the AP Department, 2) personnel management; 3) policies and procedures development and adherence; 4) ensuring optimal customer relations and service; 5) safeguarding the Medical Centers assets; 6) staff development, mentoring and coaching 7) identification and implementation of process improvements.
Ensures that compliance and regulatory requirements are adhered to and up to date. Oversees the hiring and training of manager and staff. Responsible for proper communication to all customers. Maintains open communication with healthcare agencies and vendors.
Provides leadership and direction. Communicates clearly and concisely with customers in a timely manner. Efficiently organizes tasks and assigns appropriate resources. Demonstrates initiative to improve customer relations, services and processes. Demonstrates creative thinking for developing solutions. Manages multiple tasks and projects. Respects and maintains confidentiality of all information within the Hospitals Center. Develops a partnership between Finance and other operational departments to improve customer relations and service. Develops and maintains working relationships with internal and external customers. Assesses time required for completion of one's work (individual and team). Fosters staff development. Conducts staff performance appraisals. Demonstrates trustworthiness and integrity. Facilitates a team atmosphere within Finance and respective departments. Provides leadership by supporting and motivating staff. Interacts with administration, peers, general staff, and other Hospitals Center personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
Reviews work performed by direct reports.
Identifies and coordinates resources to meet customer needs and deadlines.
Redesigns internal processes and uses technology and selective outsourcing to improve processing.
Utilizes PeopleSoft dashboard to monitor team activities and address areas of concerns with the managers.
Proactively identifies areas of potential improvement.
Understands PeopleSoft Financials system.
Responsible for understanding financial and operational issues and potential impacts.
Ensures quality and integrity of data collection and processing.
Must have a Bachelors degree and a minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of related experience managing a large team of 20+ team members within a fast paced, high volume, (more than 700,000 invoices annually) area.
PeopleSoft or other ERP experience a must.
Exhibit deep knowledge of the Accounts Payable function and how it interacts with Finance, Strategic Sourcing and Customer Service.
Demonstrate strong management skills to meet and exceed the needs of their customers.
Develop a partnership between Finance and the Medical Centers Administration to improve customer relations and service.
Must have strong communication skills and should proactively monitor customer satisfaction and the quality of the services provided.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
