Full Time; Partial Year Career Starting Salary Range: $6,333 - $8,625 per month for 11 months; one month off, annually, in the summer. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Starting salary for this Master's Level position is based on fixed criteria including the number of years as a licensed mental health professional and the type of experience (for example, additional credit given for college counseling experience).

Under the direction of the Case Manager Supervisor, the Case Manager provides mental health care and case management coordination and support in collaboration with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, and UCSC Student Health Center (SHC) providers.
The Case Manager provides services designed to assist students in optimizing their educational experience and minimizing the impact of illness, injury and emotional distress on their academic careers by coordinating mental health care through a network of campus and community resources.
Student Health Services (SHS) currently has four (4) Licensed Psychotherapist, Case Manager positions.
The positions are located within different SHS departments: Psychiatry (1), Counseling and Psychological Services/CAPS (1), and Student Health Center/SHC Clinic (2). This opening, Job Number 1807763, is assigned to Student Health Center/SHC Clinic and is one of 2 positions providing service in the Health Clinic.
The Case Manager provides services to other campus departments as necessary, coordinating CAPS services with the Student Health Center (SHC) providers, Residential Life, and the Colleges. This person will work with a variety of Student Success departments that serve students, as well as provide consultation services for faculty and staff in dealing with distressed students.
In discharging these duties the Case Manager is expected to be keenly sensitive to issues of gender, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities, etc. and to be skilled with techniques for counseling students with diverse backgrounds.
All the Licensed Case Manager's activities are performed within the limits of the standards and ethical principles of their professional organization, as well as applicable legal mandates for mental health professionals in the State of California.
A partial-year career appointment is established to accommodate foreseeable seasonal fluctuations in staffing, budgetary, operational, or other needs and contains regularly scheduled furlough periods during which the incumbent remains an employee and retains health benefits, but is not at work. Please note that the Licensed Psychotherapist Case Manager's furlough period is for one month in summer (dates to be determined) and is unpaid time off.

The Licensed Psychotherapist Case Manager position is represented by the Union of Health Care Professional (HX).
Some special conditions inlcude:
Valid California licensure, in good standing, in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy OR valid out-of state licensure, in good standing, in Psychology *
*Out of State licensed psychologists are required to acquire California licensure within 180 days from either submitting the application or beginning California residency, whichever occurs first
Job will require occasional working of non-traditional hours
Expertise in clinical case management in a medical or integrated behavioral health setting.
Strong knowledge and experience providing psychological diagnoses, brief interventions, and case management services to university students. Able to rapidly provide these services while working in a fast-paced environment where interruptions may be frequent and task-shifting is required.
Demonstrated multicultural competence in mental health service provision. Knowledge of how race, ethnic identity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, privilege and multiculturalism relate to psychological service delivery in a university setting.
Broad skills and competencies associated with providing multi-cultural counseling services and experience with communities underserved in mental health care.
Experience providing service to a young adult population.
