The primary purpose of this position is to account for the formal financing activity of the University in its financial records systems. This purpose covers a variety of tasks and broad scope of activities that include a high degree of time, detail, and deadlines, in conjunction with activities that expose the University to significant financial, headline, and reputational risk.
The position of Treasury Accountant will provide exclusive leadership and hold the primary responsibility for all activities dealing with the accounting, reconciling, and otherwise financially recorded transactions associated with the University's debt program.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate’s degree in accounting; or Associate’s degree in business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB requirements.
Strong computer skills including proven advanced Excel experience.
Strong written and oral communication.
Acute attention to detail.
Ability to digest complicated financial information and practices.
Other computer experience including Access, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
