This position serves as the Executive Assistant to the Associate Dean of Advancement. This position is responsible for maintaining the Associate Dean's calendar, correspondence and travel arrangements. The Executive Assistant is the main point of contact for the Office of Advancement and must represent the Foundation's and Dental Alumni Association's (DAA) interest at all times. This position will coordinate all communications with the Foundation's management team. The Executive Assistant must operate independently, coordinating communications, events, and meetings with the general public, University administrators, faculty, alumni, and donors.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This position requires an individual with exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) and a professional demeanor, who is also service oriented, able to multitask, and has the ability to remain calm and personable in extremely stressful situations. This position must be skillful in organizing, planning and managing administrative activities. This person should have a working knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and the Internet.
The ability to analyze and interpret policies and guidelines is important, as well as a general knowledge of administrative office work processes.
