Job Requisition Number: 24563. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Stadium Operations and Special Event Intern.
The Intern will work at the Stadium and assist with all events. Besides home football games, we host over 200 events in our club spaces.
OVERVIEW: Involves the planning and organizing of campus event activities, including managing logistics such as facilities, tickets, audience management, concessionaires, caterers, and vendors; and facilitation of communication and services with officials, visiting teams, NCAA, Pac-12, as well as facility maintenance staff; and provides technical support of these activities.
•45% FOOTBALL The intern plays a critical role in the management of football game day. They assist with all logistics and set up planning - on game day, they manage all student staff. The knowledge required to do this job is extensive. We need some level of consistency.
•35% FACILITY RENTAL/SPECIAL EVENTS Besides football, this is the biggest area of work. There is a lot of administrative work that goes into managing the 200+ events we support annually. The intern helps manage the calendar, the scheduling of staff, the monitoring of event reports, access to clubs and the scheduling of all elevators. In addition, we provide signage, rental equipment, etc.
•15%STADIUM OPERATIONS The intern assists in the daily management of the stadium. This may include assisting tenants, producing signage, assisting with stadium access (changing of locks, coordinating/scheduling access and tours).
•5% OTHER PROJECTS/EVENTS This past Spring, the interns managed a couple of spring sports - Lacrosse•Acquires specialized knowledge of program activity and best practices. •Problem-solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener. •Basic verbal and written communication skills in the English language. •Must be proficient in the use of basic computer applications.
