Nemours is seeking an Instructional Designer (FULL-TIME) to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware or Orlando, Florida.
As the birthplace of the Nemours healthcare system, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. honors our legacy of delivering exceptional care to the children of the Delaware Valley and beyond. Ranked among the nation's best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and honored with the ANCC's Magnet Designation for excellence in nursing practice, we offer intensive and acute inpatient and outpatient services covering more than 30 pediatric specialties. We recently completed a multi-phase hospital expansion that includes new inpatient rooms, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Additionally, Nemours duPont Pediatrics allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.
This person is responsible for the ongoing redesign and improvement of standard education offerings for new hires and current employees, primarily regarding the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System, as well as other system applications and topics as identified. The person will be expected to reshape the current model of delivery from traditional classroom education and web-based courses to a blended approach that is learner and operations focused. The goals for the new model are to provide a more robust and effective learner experience that leverages technology and promotes personal ownership of the learning process; support Nemours operations by increasing opportunities for new hires to complete training closer to their hire date; and reduce the amount of resources necessary for delivering and maintaining training offerings.
This person will perform all facets of instructional design and conduct needs and task analyses, while working collaboratively with clients and subject matter experts to gather and understand content and to determine appropriate delivery methods. The person in this position will design, develop, deliver, evaluate, and redesign educational offerings. This person will serve as a consultant and subject matter expert to clients seeking learning solutions and recommend appropriate educational strategies. This person will work with the Talent Development team to: implement recommended advanced learning technologies; identify, in conjunction with management, skill levels required for employees to perform job requirements; and maintain records of instructional development and training activities.

This position can be located in either Wilmington, Delaware or Orlando, Florida.
Perform all facets of instructional design processâ”analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
Evaluate and redesign learning solutions and programs for quality, business impact, and scalability.
Use an array of different media to produce materials that promote learning through self-study, practice, and performance support.
Develop assessment instruments to measure learner acceptance, comprehension, and application of processes and systems knowledge.
Leverage technology to provide interactive learning experiences and extend access to multiple locations.
Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation.
Help to support LMS administration tasks such as course testing, completion tracking, completion reporting, and course evaluation and assessment creation.
Strong knowledge of learning principles and methodologies with a track record of practical application in formal and informal contexts.
History of initiating improvements in learning strategy and content through collaboration and prototyping.
Demonstrated ability to communicate difficult concepts, workflows, and processes, particularly in complex software systems, such as an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Successful record of building effective learning experiences leveraging a variety of media, such as video and audio clips, online interactivity, simulations, illustrations and diagrams. Demonstrated proficiency with production tools, in particular Captivate, Lectora, Snagit, Camtasia,
Articulate Storyline; experience with responsive course design to support delivery of eLearning to desktops and mobile platforms; and knowledge of industry standard formats such as SCORM.
Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced work environment and consistently deliver on commitments; great organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgment in complex and ambiguous situations.
Ability to work in a team environment under aggressive deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
M.A. in Education, Educational Media, Instructional Design or related field required.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience required.
Previous experience in education or training required.
Epic EMR experience is preferred. Epic (EMR) certification preferred.
