Nemours is seeking a UNIX Systems Administrator (Full-Time) to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida or Wilmington, Delaware. (Location for this position is either Jacksonville, FL or Wilmington, DE).
At Nemours, each Associate plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of world-class pediatric care to the children we serve. The team based at our home office in Jacksonville, Fla. provides essential administrative, financial and technical support to Nemours operations across all locations.
The UNIX/Linux System Administrator position is responsible for managing all systems as they relate to Unix and Linux, SAN, IBM TSM, IBM Websphere, Tomcat, Apache or other system midrange operations. This position will require an advanced technical knowledge of AIX systems to facilitate the install and management of the core operating system as well as the analysis and resolution of system hardware, software and networking issues. In addition, this position will provide support and assistance to application teams with items such as patch management, installation, and support of the applications with their respective vendors.
This position can be located in either Jacksonville, Florida or Wilmington, Delaware.
Install, support, and manage enterprise AIX systems, Redhat, Solaris 10, Sun Sparc, storage area networks (SANs), and SAN network communications.
Design, develop, and install scripts to alert and monitor for system errors, exceptions, system performance history, and general systems maintenance.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and support associated with the enterprise midrange environment.
Make recommendations for upgrades and/or new server hardware, peripherals, operating systems.
Provide documentation to users and Service Desk staff prior to implementation of newly installed products.
Assist with establishing policies and procedures necessary for optimal system operations. These should include: the accuracy and integrity of system backups; automation of manual and routine operations; ensuring conformance with Information Systems, enterprise, security, and industry standards.
Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
Associate's Degree required.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience required.
Excellent team and interpersonal skills.
Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
Clear, analytical thinking and problem solving ability.
