Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with education and training primarily concerned with the administration of anesthesia. Works with anesthesiologists. All age groups of patients will be encountered. Must be able to administer anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Ability to communicate with patients, family members and others on the health care team. Ability to solve problems. Ability to document clearly and communicate in writing. Ability to evaluate laboratory results and tests. Ability to manage fluids, blood, and electrolyte therapy. Ability to monitor patients using current techniques. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.
Requires current licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Certification from the Council of Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists is required. Must have completed a program of study designed to prepare an RN for advanced practice and which meets Board of Nursing standards for practice as an APRN and the Council on Accreditation for nurse anesthesia programs. A master's degree in nursing is required. Must have extensive advanced knowledge of nurse anesthesia. Must have clinical privileges approved through respective health care facilities.
