Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the development and administration of all athletic communications, promotions and marketing efforts for the University’s Division I athletic program in accordance with all NCAA regulations. This position requires the incumbent to work closely with other athletic administrators, coaches and University personnel. Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to, women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, bowling, softball, and track & field.
1.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
2.One to two years' experience in sports information or related field, at the collegiate or professional level, preferred.
3.PC and Macintosh computer experience; knowledge of STATCREW sport software and the Automated Scorebook software programs; HTML or similar internet language and working knowledge of the internet preferred.
4.Strong writing skills. Ability to write creatively, quickly and well, as demonstrated by writing samples.
5.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with university staff, students and the general public.
6.Ability to develop a good working relationship with working media.
7.Willingness to travel and work non-standard hours (i.e., evenings, weekends) as required.
8.Ability to make decisions in high pressure situations.
9.Valid driver’s license and accessibility to transportation.
10.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
