The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Coordinator- Building Services to join our team. This position coordinates the maintenance and facilities operations for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the CBEC building and assists with maintenance and facilities issues in the department's other buildings; coordinates all preventive and emergency maintenance of building systems and equipment in CBEC, including air compressors, chilled water loops, cold rooms, autoclaves, glass washers; serves as liaison between custodial staff, facilities maintenance staff and outside contractors with building occupants and researchers; ensures that building cleanliness standards are maintained and maintenance & repair work is completed; communicates with researchers on the status of maintenance and repair issues as needed; serves as coordinator for facilities issues such as repairs, maintenance requests and custodial issues for multiple buildings; communicates with OSU facilities staff, outside contractors, department faculty, staff, students and others to schedule and coordinate service delivery; coordinates daily shipping, receiving and delivery services; assists customers with shipping requests and the creation of mailing labels; maintains a stock of common office supplies used by faculty, staff and students; initiates orders for supplies to OSU stores and outside vendors; manages Lenel key card access; manages requests and maintains records for physical keys, other electronic keycard access and telephone service; maintains and operates the department liquid nitrogen dispensing facility and provides accurate monthly reports on usage; maintains and updates equipment inventory records; performs asset management tasks including tagging, auditing and surplus of assets; maintains reports of surplus property; assists the manager of buildings services as needed and assumes those responsibilities in the manager's absence; supervises student workers; coordinates with the Coordinator Building Services for Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering on all CBEC building issues as needed; performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in building maintenance, facilities management, and supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Pro; general literacy with information technology and office equipment; good communication skills; ability to diagnose and resolve problems; prior experience using OSU e-tools.
Target Salary: $20.05 - $21.65 Hourly
