The recently completed installation of a Siemens mMR PET/MR scanner is the first step in further developing our molecular imaging program. The scanner will have protected research access. A venture with PETNET will facilitate installation of 2 cyclotrons and a clinical radiochemistry laboratory proximate to the PET/MR, with future plans for research radiochemistry.
MR Research is conducted in the Center for Translational Imaging (CTI), a Radiology Department operated university core facility that includes 4 human research MR scanners (1.5T Aera, two 3T PRISMA and a 3T Skyra magnet) as well as a Bruker 7T small bore animal magnet with a Siemens front end to facilitate translational research and a micro PET/CT scanner for small animals. A master research agreement with Siemens Medical Systems (SMS) is in place, with extensive on-site SMS PhD support for joint project development.
