The Office of Admissions is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as an Admissions Counselor (applicants will be considered for the Senior Admissions Counselor, depending on experience). This position will serve prospective students throughout the Central Washington region implementing a student recruitment program that will assist the university in meeting university enrollment targets and helping future Wildcats take the first steps in earning their degree.

The Admissions Counselor plays an important role in representing CWU's philosophy, programs, and services to prospective students, parents, and others in public, individual, and group settings.
Coordinate and Implement recruitment and outreach initiatives - Travel to recruitment events to represent the University philosophy, programs, services, and offerings to prospective students and the general public in individual and group settings. - Represent CWU and develop cooperative relationships with high schools, community colleges, community organizations, and other key influencers. - Advise prospective students, school personnel, families and others, on the admissions and enrollment process, making referrals as necessary given the specific needs of students. - Develop methods and strategies for recruiting traditional, non-traditional, and under-represented students to CWU. - Evaluate student admission applications to determine ability to succeed using admissions policies and guidelines. - Manage recruitment yield metrics using multiple communication modalities (phone call, text messaging, email, etc.) while effectively maintaining student contact efforts in the university CRM and/or Student Information System. - Produce follow-up reports regarding recruitment activities to help accurately forecast projected new students on a regular basis. - Provide work direction and quality assurance programming to student ambassadors, especially as it relates to outreach campaigns. - Analyze quarterly activity and use data to plan recruitment strategy and travel to increase successful management of the recruiting territory. - Collaborate with visitation programs and provide admissions workshop presentations. - Assist other departments with periodical recruitment events (i.e., open house, visitation programming, orientation). - Other duties as assigned
Ability to travel, especially between during the months of September - January.
Valid driver's license
Experience with culturally and economically diverse populations
Experience working in student services or a customer service setting.
Experience giving oral presentations to small and large groups.
Experience or training that demonstrates the ability to use computers, Word, Excel, CRM, Internet and/or similar software applications to produce written correspondence, create and maintain spreadsheets, and receive and respond to e-mail inquiries, and tasks.
OR applicable combination of experience and/or education which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
To be considered for Senior Admissions Counselor:
2-5 years of professional and progressively responsible work experience related to admissions, student affairs in higher education, or student recruitment at a regionally accredited 2 or 4 year not-for-profit college or university.
2 to 5 years of professional and progressively responsible work experience related to multicultural and diversity outreach,
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience with college/university admissions
Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
Experience and familiarity with utilizing social media applications, databases, CRM, and other student recruitment tools.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: $47,700-$51,000 annually
Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / Extensive weeknight and weekend work
Working Conditions: General office environment when on campus or visiting other schools. This position requires substantial travel throughout Washington state and the Pacific Northwest, with occasional travel to other regions of the United States. Position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend programs and other interactions with the public, including presentations. If working from home, this position requires dedicated office space within one's home free of distractions.
