The Physical Security Coordinator oversees all Platte River’s physical security system troubleshooting and maintenance at all Platte River locations. The position coordinates day to day technical work, including scheduling and prioritizing tasks, and works with vendors, contractors and internal customers to meet security requirements.
•Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots badge access system, hardware, cameras and other electronic equipment for locations and substations •Implements security for low-impact CIP assets •Assists in the design and implements security solutions for substations •Troubleshoots network communications, and physical security system and components •Prepares reports for access tracking and access violations •Responds to call outs and system alarms •Maintains regular & reliable attendance
•Serves as backup for CIP compliance relating to physical security, including documentation, system configuration, patch management, access review, directory services, event logging, and program audits •Performs other duties as assigned
•Associate's degree in electricity, electronics, or related field, or completion of a certified apprenticeship in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience •Two years of experience in physical security project management, security system design and installation, documentation and reporting •Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills •Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite •Ability to occasionally work weekends, nights, and holidays •Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to effectively balance work load under multiple demands and conflicting priorities •Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little or no daily direction •Knowledge of security principles, concepts, and best practices •Experience working with facility access control systems, video surveillance systems, and network video recorders •Working knowledge of networking principles, concepts, and equipment (Ethernet and RS-232) •Experience working with specific building access control systems •Experience working with electrical schematics and low voltage electric systems •Current valid driver's license and ability to remain insurable under Platte River's vehicle liability policy
•Experience with Lenel OnGuard and Milestone •Working knowledge of electric power industry reliability standards related to critical infrastructure protection (CIP) •Lenel Master Certification •Working knowledge of fiber optics and networking
