Reporting directly to the Vice President for Facilities Management and Chief Facilities Officer, the Director, Facilities Management Medical Center provides leadership on planning and implementing projects in collaboration with UK HealthCare and Medical Center strategic initiatives. The Director assists leaders in defining organizational goals, critical issues, and strategic plans; develops and administers comprehensive policies, procedures, and initiatives in support of the University, UK HealthCare, Medical Center, and Facilities Management Directors. This role identifies and implements plans to optimize energy systems and equipment operations in UK HealthCare and Medical Center facilities. S/he also oversees all functional areas of Facilities Management Medical Center, including Design / Engineering / Construction, Controls Engineering, Maintenance and Operations, Compliance, Administration, Grounds and Custodial Services, and leads a team of leaders with an emphasis on developing existing and future talent, mentoring, and inspiring performance as well as enabling leaders to succeed. This position, in collaboration with UK HealthCare, develops, administers, and manages annual multi-million dollar Facilities Management Medical Center Budget. This includes authorizing engineering and design projects for construction via internal and/or external source contractors; monitoring all budgets for construction and renovation projects and ensures appropriate expenditure of funds; maintaining cost data; assisting and supporting on-site leadership with identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities. The Director authorizes maintenance and operations' expenditures and infrastructure improvements via internal and/or external source contractors; works effectively with leaders and staff to drive business innovation, service strategies, revenue growth, and continuous improvements processes to ensure service excellence. In addition, this position oversees the design, implementation, and management of feasibility studies and conceptual plans; participates in the Periodic UK HealthCare Master Plan updates; as well as being responsible, along with the Vice President for Facilities Management, in planning and producing the biennium and 6-year capital request for University Administration.

MS Windows/Office; MS Project Manager; SAP; KRONOS
Acute care facility experience in general hospital maintenance including management of Plant Operations; Familiar w/applicable codes, State requirements and NFPA/The Joint Commission regulations relating to health care facilities; Previous Directorship experience in a hospital or equivalent plant services operation.
