Advertised Summary Job Description: Provide support to ColumbiaDoctors Pain Medicine (CDPM) through patient scheduling within IDX. Duties include communicating effectively with referring clinicians and patients in a high-volume setting. Acting as a liaison between callers to CDPM and Department by being customer service oriented. Use organizational and time-management skills to improve patient access to CDPM. Finalize next-day schedules. Process incoming requests for inpatient consults and forward appropriately. Assist with billing operations as necessary. Call scheduled patients day before visit to Verify their attendance.. Maintain a wait list for patients requesting earlier appointments. Track inpatient consult requests by maintaining a log in Excel. Resolve scheduling conflicts quickly, utilizing critical-thinking skills. Ensure that all new patients receive CDPM Welcome letters. Identify inconsistencies and discrepancies; refer them to appropriate personnel for investigation or resolution. Generate scheduling reports as requested. Verify cancellations and make changes to schedule as necessary. Screen telephone calls and forward appropriately, respond to general inquiries concerning the activities and operation of CDPM by relating or referring to established policies and procedures. Make decisions within guidelines. Ensure phones are answered within the standards set by the practice. Provide efficient scheduling and ensure all appointment times are filled. Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's Degree plus three years of experience or equivalent in education, training and experience. Must have proficient computer skills.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks. Good organizational, communication and team player skills, and well developed levels of discretion and confidentiality required. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and take initiative a must. Must be detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications: Must be efficient and quick with entering data into IDX scheduling. Possess knowledge and understanding of medical technology. Possess interpersonal skills to positively and effectively communicate, negotiate and resolve conflict. Proficiency in IDX and Crown. Related scheduling experience.
