The Department Administrator serves as an operational manager, supporting and facilitating the work of leadership and management, day-to-day operations, facilities and personnel administration that serves the HUIT teams that will be located in 784 Memorial Drive. Specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Reports to the Assistant Director of Business Operations. Primary point of contact for the 784 Memorial Drive building.
Coordinates practices and procedures to ensure consistency across 784 Memorial Drive and documents best practices and processes. Establishes and monitors department policies and protocols. Develops and maintains work plans, calendars, and matrices as part of oversight and management of operations for 784 Memorial Drive location.
Responsible for management and oversight of operational issues managed by HUIT Administration, including annual IT computer refresh, equipment inventory, maintenance, purchasing, coordination with HRES and building management company, space planning and implementation, telephone system, mail distribution, day-to-day administrative operations (including supplies, budget, logistics, business machinery, furniture, etc.).
Supervises the cohort of executive/staff assistants in the 784 Memorial Drive location ensures that their roles are appropriately leveraged across a heavily matrixed organization. Responsible for the professional development and performance management of the team.
Assists with department communications. He or she works with the Assistant Director and Managing Director to ensure HUIT and University communications are shared with the 784 Memorial Drive community.
Helps ensure strong sense of community and morale across HUIT, but particularly in the 784 Memorial Drive building by planning and executing events and programs in the building. Generally fosters a positive, fun environment. Maintains a full calendar of events, bringing in Harvard partners from across the University and sourcing ideas from the community.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 4 years administrative or related experience in a dynamic environment.
Strong technical skills, including knowledge of HTML, Google Analytics, web content management systems, and other web technologies.
