The Business Systems Specialist will manage and oversee various projects for the Business Office relating to the Finance Module of Banner ERP system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(1) Exercise functional management responsibility and oversight of special projects for the Business Office relating to the Finance Module of the Banner ERP system. These projects would include managing upgrades to the Finance Module, the implementation of new releases (Banner 9), and implementing system features currently not used. Also lead or assist in projects focusing on business process improvement and accounting controls. These projects would relate to purchasing, accounts payable, budget, and financial reporting. (2) Lead or assist in projects focusing on business process improvement, accounting controls and regulatory compliance such as PCI standards. (3) Assist university personnel in the use of the Finance Module of Banner. (4) Ongoing responsibility for ensuring access to data in Banner Finance is secure, for the maintenance of electronic approval queues and for updating tuition and fee assessment tables. (5) Responsible for transitioning reports developed using the Discoverer report writer to Argos, as well as developing new reports using Argos. Also, responsible for developing ad-hoc reports using Argos as requested. (6) Perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Business or a related field of study.
- Five to seven years of experience in finance or accounting with a focus on financial systems. - Several years of work experience with Banner Finance is required. - Project management experience. - Experience with Banner Human Resources and Payroll is also preferred. - Experience with Argos report writer system is also preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
