The Director of Human Resources serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the university, providing direction and oversight of personnel and human resources functions for faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to employment, benefits, payroll, wage & salary administration, training and employee relations. The director is responsible for monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and recommending changes in policies, procedures and programs as a result of external and internal changes. The director manages a staff of 3 full-time staff, serves as the university Title IX coordinator and is a member of the university MOSAIC (Diversity) and Risk Management committees.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) plus a minimum of 5 years of comparable experience in human resources. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively work with a wide range of internal and external constituents. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Technology skills (Microsoft Office, Email, PeopleSoft or other HRM system) are essential. Experience conducting investigations, managing benefits, administering wage & salary programs, and developing training programs are desired. Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to inter-cultural competence and diversity.
