The Office of Academic Innovation (AI) is seeking a Student Program Coordinator to reimagine how we work with students. This new position is an exciting opportunity to lead AI’s efforts to engage students across U-M in the growing program of initiatives, events and activities being driven by AI. The ideal candidate will help AI in attracting the University’s most creative and driven students to help foster new ideas and support AI initiatives. Students help AI to realize its vision in many ways, including through the co-creation of new initiatives, providing structured feedback and applying subject matter expertise to AI’s academic R&D model. Students engage with AI in a number of ways, including as paid academic term and summer fellows and through events such as design jams and hackathons as well as through providing user research related to AI-led programs and educational technology software tools. The Student Program Coordinator will recruit, engage, and provide oversight of programmatic activities for students across AI’s portfolio of initiatives and subject matter areas. The incumbent will design and manage new student engagement activities, including working to identify and fill new student positions, fellowships, and advisory boards, and organizing student events and project showcases. This role will be uniquely positioned to connect with students, programs, and schools/colleges from across the entire campus and AI team.
