Performs duties designed to protect the property of the site and the rights of individuals against loss or injury due to disorderly acts, accidents, fires or other hazards.
35% - Essential - Security & Safety: Observes activities and incidents at an assigned site, providing for the security and safety of site property and personnel. Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the premises. Keeps order and prevents disturbances. Controls access to clients, site or facility through the admittance process.
35% - Essential - Patrolling: Patrols assigned site on foot; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, hazardous materials, inclement weather and other incidents.
15% - Essential - Emergency Response: Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations. Implements best practices and techniques for safety, security and fire protection. Renders first aid to injured; disperses crowds and reroutes spectators around disturbances or fires.
10% - Essential - Reporting: Reports activities and incidents at the assigned site. Reports any irregular activities; apprehends or arrests violators; keeps order. Prepares logs and reports as required.
5% - Essential - Other: All other duties as assigned by the Site Director.
A high school diploma and experience in fire prevention, safety or security activities.
JOB KNOWLEDGE Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
