POSITION Program Manager for the Ed.D. Leadership Program
JOB SUMMARY Spalding University is seeking an efficient, organized self-starter to manage a growing doctoral program in leadership. The Program Director manages diverse duties related to program scheduling and record keeping, as well as coordination of current student and faculty needs and alumni activities. The Program Manager assists the Program Director and must be both detail-oriented and capable of working on diverse projects simultaneously.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Support the mission and philosophy of Spalding University, the College of Education, and the Ed.D. Leadership Program. 2. Develop, maintain, and update accurate student and alumni records, including cohort information, student evaluations of faculty instruction, and class culminating project data. 3. Communicate with all active students and maintain accurate records concerning course registration, student appeals, dissertation and capstone progress, and policy information. 4. Write and disseminate to current Ed.D. Students, Ed.D. Faculty, and Ed.D. Alumni a monthly electronic newsletter. 5. Maintain Ed.D. Leadership Program application records and materials and provide program information to prospective students. 6. Solicit textbook and other course materials, as well as syllabi, from program faculty and proofread syllabi to ensure their compliance with Spalding syllabi accessibility and other standards. 7. With Program Director’s assistance, work with Human Resources to initiate teaching contracts for part-time faculty and for full-time faculty teaching overloads, as needed. 8. With Program Director’s assistance, develop and submit annual program class calendar/schedule. 9. Annually, update Ed.D. Leadership Student Handbook and University Catalog, and update Ed.D. Leadership webpage and hardcopy marketing materials as needed. 10. In consultation with Program Director, schedule Ed.D. Leadership program organizational partners for face-to-face class meetings. 11. In consultation with Program Director, assist with organizing and executing Ed.D. Leadership academic and social functions, including annual student orientations and quarterly faculty meetings. 12. Assist Program Director with new program initiatives as they arise. 13. Process program reimbursement requests, subscription renewals, and professional development paperwork. 14. Direct, as necessary, the work of a program-assigned graduate assistant. 15. Other duties as identified and/or assigned.
NATURE OF WORK ENVIRONMENT 1. Tasks involve the ability to manage a wide variety of priorities, projects, and tasks, in addition to extensive e-mail communication. 2. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a computer keyboard or workstation. 3. While performing the duties of this job, the Program Manager may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. An earned bachelor’s degree with a master’s degree preferred. 2. Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred. 3. Experience with online education preferred. 4. Experience with Moodle or similar system preferred. 5. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 6. A minimum of two years of full-time managerial or related work experience in an academic or other office setting
