Fixed-term non tenure-track position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English Education for the BS in Communication Arts and Literature and MS in English Education programs. See http://www.stcloudstate.edu/english for more information on courses and program details.
The successful candidate will teach up to twenty-four credits in the following areas: beginning and advanced English teaching methods; first-year composition; specialized courses in his or her area(s) of expertise. Ability to teach reading pedagogy preferred. She or he will also participate in advising, assessment, and committee work associated with education programs on campus. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to: 1) teach and/or perform assignment effectively; 2) conduct scholarly achievement or research; 3) continue preparation and study in discipline; 4) contribute to student growth and development; and 5) provide service to the university and community. Two years of secondary or middle school teaching experience
Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
A current teaching license in English
PhD or EdD in English Education or related field
More than two years of secondary or middle school teaching experience
Expertise in reading pedagogy
Expertise in use of digital technologies in the classroom and ability to teach online
Experience working with English Language Learners
Evidence of scholarly achievement
