Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Full-time Web Developer for the Evanston campus.
Temporary Job Description:
A undergraduate degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable skills and abilities can be acquired;
Ability to troubleshoot existing applications and learn new technologies
Knowledge of usability and accessibility issues;
Thorough knowledge of the differences in web browsers and keeping current with new web technologies;
Experience documenting application specifications and source code;
Ability to communicate effectively one-to-one and with groups, and to write precise, well-organized emails, specifications and proposals;
A helpful, approachable, team-oriented demeanor and the ability to build strong working relationships and a positive, collaborative work environment.
Experience with or willingness to learn XSLT
Project management experience
Cascade CMS development experience
MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Intermediate experience in the following:
Operating Systems: OSX, Windows, Linux
Proficiency with web content management systems and platforms (Cascade CMS a plus);
