Home Visitors in the Healthy Families program support pregnant mothers and families with 0-3 year old children by providing weekly/biweekly in-home services, comprehensive assessment, and strengths-based parent support groups and education. As a Home Visitor, you will develop safe and trusting relationships with pregnant mothers and new parents, helping them to expand their support networks and maximize access to needed services, and providing support and expertise as they successfully navigate the parenting journey. Home Visitor responsibilities:
Provide weekly/biweekly home visits to families with young children (prenatal to 3rd birthday).
Rely on trusting relationships, thoughtful observation, and reflective listening to inform the assessment and service planning processes.
Advocate for your clients’ access to community resources.
Work with a team of providers to ensure services are comprehensive and collaborative.
Provide strengths-based and family-centered parent education both individually and in group settings.
Assess for safety and develop safety plans and strategies in collaboration with the family.
Complete required program documentation within expected timeframes.
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
Minimum of one year experience in a home visiting role, or a closely related human service.
Ability to a work flexible schedule that may involve 24-hour availability.
Maturity and experience working with young children and their families.
Expertise in child development and parent-child relationships.
Ability to relate to families from a strengths-based, family-centered service model, even in an apparently chaotic family environment.
Belief in and comfort advocating for nurturing, non-violent discipline of children.
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
