We are seeking a Radiation Oncology Scheduler who will ensure that all patients are scheduled appropriately and efficiently for procedures, including, but not limited to: CT/SIM, MRI/SIM, PET/CT SIM, Superficial Unit and Radiation Therapy Treatment appointments. He/ She will provide general patient information, specific prep instructions and directions to procedure areas. The Radiation Oncology Scheduler will resolve all related issues, directs calls, and confirms appointments.
Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
Demonstrate care and concern and communicate effectively when unable to schedule appointments in the patient's preference window
Professionally Answer the telephone using correct telephone techniques and procedures in an efficient manner and handles each inquiry in a competent and courteous manner. Direct all calls appropriately and contact the area supervisors when necessary.
Reschedule and cancel appointments when requested in an efficient manner. Notifies the patients and appropriate staff.
Confirm all appointments with patients and provides general patient information, specific prep instructions.
Work as part of a team by cooperating with other Radiation Oncology staff members and all Center personnel. Participate in training, orientation and mentorship for new schedulers.
Ensure efficient utilization of scheduling to effectively maximize time and resources by staff.
Coordinate scheduling with the anesthesia team as needed.
Complete special projects and statistics as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Participate in general administrative tasks as needed. Cross covers for all schedulers.
Work Monday – Friday, Flexible hours from 11am -7pm or 12-8 (dependent on patient volume) (with flexibility to start 8am or 9am when covering for vacation and initially for training)
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with computers, preferably with scheduling software.
Preferred: Experience in healthcare
