We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Communications Specialist.
This position utilizes strategic, creative and technical communications skills to support the goals of the Epic Project and associated technology transformation initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Internal Communications. The incumbent will have frequent interaction with members of the Corporate Communications Department, Epic leadership and other project team members, and regular interaction with Epic Project leadership, communicators and external vendors for graphic design, print, video and other production needs.
In coordination with Corporate communications team, develops Epic Project communications materials directed at multiple audiences, including physicians, co-workers, NYU leaders, system end-users, patients and the general public.
Participates in development of materials as outlined in the Epic Project communications plan, including newsletters, articles, Web site content, presentations, toolkits, videos, etc.
Provides information and materials to NYU Department and FGP leaders in support of their local Epic Project communications efforts.
Provides communications support to Epic training and change management activities.
Maintains content of Epic Project intranet site.
Uses desktop publishing in development of Epic Project communications.
Assists with special events for Epic Project, including preparation of related materials.
Works with vendors in supporting Epic Project design, print and video production needs.
Attends Epic Project meetings and other meetings as necessary. Provides communications updates as required.
Must have a Bachelors degree in communications, English, journalism or similar field.
Three years of formal communications experience.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Computer literacy with intermediate to advanced skills in word processing, presentation software and desktop publishing.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
