Position Summary: The Senior Financial Analyst, Budget and Planning will report to the Manager, Budget and Planning at NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn. This individual will be responsible for all aspects related to hospital revenue to include the preparation of the annual operating revenue budget and all monthly reporting requirements. She/he will insure that key deliverables are met within set timelines relative to Budget, Planning and Monthly Reporting activities. In this role this individual will work and coordinate efforts with other key members of the Budget and Planning Department as well as work with key members at NYU Langone Hospitals.
Prepares annual revenue budget and statistical reports on the department, division and payer levels. * Prepares complex and large data analytics with respect to hospital revenue for budget processes as well as the monthly financial statement preparation process. * Prepares and reviews monthly statistical and revenue reports for accuracy, reasonableness and completeness. Responsibilities to include budget variance reporting and analysis for financial reporting provided to senior leadership. * Creates and provides financial analysis to support longer-range financial plans, including the analysis to support proposed new business units or services. * Provide analytical reports for use by finance, clinical leadership and senior management on service line profitability including payer profit & loss. * Provide database support for state and federal audits. * Creates ad-hoc reports for clinical leadership and senior management. * Assist with special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration. At least 5 years of previous experience working in a large healthcare complex organization is a plus. Effective oral, written, communication, and customer service skills. Extensive knowledge in MS Excel, proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint software and knowledge of People Soft Reporting, Cost Accounting System (EPSi) and Tableau preferred. Team-oriented with excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills. Detail-oriented and ability to multitask, and works successfully under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
