The Maternal and Child Health Concentration at the School of Public Health seeks a Program Coordinator to manage and execute on the day to day administrative needs of the program, coordinate current funding and pursuit of future funding opportunities, and support the research projects of the new chair. The nature of this role requires a diverse set of skills, with an emphasis on thorough and professional academic communications, especially writing, for the support of research and proposals. Duties include but are not limited to:
Administrative and Programmatic Support:
-Development and supervision of student activities related to the training grants such as seminars, symposia, and interaction with academic and public health agencies - Tracking and confirmation of the eligibility and requirements of all training programs to assure appropriate selection of students and compliance with grant procedures -Communication with faculty, agencies involved in training, HSPH support services for student activities (IT, IRB, Student Aid, Registrar, etc.) -Development and maintenance of appropriate web-based materials -Other duties as assigned
- Development and maintenance of regulatory binders for the Chair and any students working under his supervision (to satisfy human subject's requirements). This will require attention to the schedule of applications, drafting amendments and annual reports, and interacting with the IRB staff that oversee the department's research -Drafting study manuals, reports, manuscripts and data collection forms using established software like REDCap -Coordination and assurance of high-quality data collection, including training students/research assistants in purpose and methods of studies in a manner to assure fidelity to the study design using a variety of techniques e.g. library research -Design and maintain study data-bases (including those tracking the progress of studies) -Preparation of preliminary descriptive statistics and assessment of data validity -Other duties as assigned
-Manage current training grants -Assist in applying for new training grants from a variety of funding agencies -Communication with other investigators and efficiently assembling needed materials for grant proposals -Coordination of student funding for tuition, stipends, travel and other activities with liaisons with relevant HSPH offices. -Maintenance and updating the positions of former trainees in a variety of formats for different funding -agencies -Drafting reports for funding agencies and grant proposals -Preparation of financial reports -Other duties as assigned

- 3+ years of related experience required with 1+ years of experience in a position with a writing emphasis; a combination of education and experience may be considered
- Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. - Masters in public health or related degree (e.g. MSH) is a strong plus. - Experience in an academic and research position with a writing emphasis is strongly preferred - Research project management and experience with federally funded training programs, web management, statistical skills, grant writing and event coordination strongly preferred
Proven experience in strategizing and thinking operationally, proven writing and presentation skills; Excellent organizational skills - prioritize work in a context with multiple demands. Proven project management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills for interactions with students, faculty, school administration and outside agencies. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
