Location: Holy Family Business Office, Northbrook, IL
Reports to: Development Director
Responsibilities and Duties
Grant Writer (75% of time)
Write and submit applications tailored to Foundation and Corporation specific requirements
Coordinate, write, and submit government grant proposals in collaboration with Program staff, Business Office and Development Director (on average, 2 applications per year)
Research new potential funding sources to present to Development Director and Chief Development Officer
Maintain a grant calendar
Research regarding up to date statistics and information for case statements
Monitor and maintain compliance and prepare reports to funders
Write tailored acknowledgement letters
Special Projects Coordinator (25% of time)
Coordinate the Church partnership program – arranging for opportunities for visits to churches from HFM staff, and for parishioners to visit the school for Wednesday chapel services and special events at the school
Assist with activities of the Endowment Committee
Assist other members of the development team as needed (prospect research, assistance at benefit events, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
MINIMUM of 2 years of experience in a social services organization which includes significant grant writing.
Experience with online grant application processes
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
Detail-oriented and organized
Able to exercise independent judgment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to understand budgets as they relate to proposals and grants
Available to work occasional Saturday (3 -4 times per year)
Available to work additional hours during high-volume grant periods
Have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on a daily basis
