The Director of Financial Operations, working with the Executive Director of Finance and Chief of Staff, and the college leadership, provides oversight, policy development and direction to the management of the College of Engineering’s financial operations; works with business managers, department chairs, directors, and college leadership including associate deans and dean; manages and provides oversight of the college processing environment in all departments and units for all fiscal operations, including procurement, travel, financial reconciliation and the shared services center; ensures standard financial processing throughout the college; develops and implements policies, procedures and processes for all fiscal operations; ensures a high level of customer service and efficient, timely, and accurate processing in compliance with University and college policies; manages allocation of staff resources and transactional volume to ensure timely, accurate completion of processing; provides direct fiscal leadership, supervision and oversight of assigned units in the college; hires, supervises, trains and evaluates financial operations staff and collaborates with the Director of Budget Planning regarding all business managers; resolves issues and recommends appropriate action; works collaboratively with the Director of Budget Planning to ensure the coordination of budget and financial operations; maintains compliance with University internal control requirements as directed by the College Internal Structure which includes ensuring segregation of duties in the processing of every transaction, appropriate mandatory approvals, and appropriate mandatory reconciliations; ensures all University and College policies are followed; ensures all supporting documentation conforms to University guidelines; maintains the College’s signature matrix and financial system security access.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration and seven years of financial management and operational experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical experience; considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures; experience in procurement operations; knowledge of University and College budgets; budget management and operational experience, such as that gained in managing a department or center; experience with university Financial systems or an enterprise resource system; extensive experience with Excel; excellent presentation and communication skills; experience in managing and leading staff.
Target Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 Annually
