Serve as a desktop computer support consultant by providing expertise in system setup and installation, system performance and optimization and OS and application problem solving.
Install and configure desktop computer systems running Windows, Macintosh OS and peripherals.
Responds to client inquires concerning systems operation, diagnoses system hardware and software problems, perform repairs.
Coordinate activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems group.
Relocate desktop computers in labs, classrooms, and faculty/staff offices as required.
Provide first level support to campus faculty and staff in analyzing problems with software and computer functions via the telephone, client office visit or for walk-in traffic.
Interact with coworkers and supervisor to determine customer support procedures that benefit the campus community.
Have the ability to support various printers and software associated with printing.
Complete detailed information and related data entry gathered from installations or remedial maintenance including electronic work orders and departmental billing forms. Have the knowledge of tracking software program.
Perform back-up or recovery procedures when needed.
An associate degree in MIS or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
One to two years experience supporting PC and Macintosh computers is required.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
Certifications for support of Windows OS and applications (MCP, MCSE)
Macintosh support experience.
Install, configure and maintain desktop hardware and operating systems, including installation and verification of peripherals.
Install, maintain and configure several types of printers including HP and Xerox.Strong Customer Service Skills
