The Leadership Giving Officerâ™s primary responsibility will be the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects at the Leadership Gift level ($100K - $1M) and the qualification of prospects over $100K. The LG Officerâ™s efforts will cultivate relationships with key prospects that will pay off immediately through increased University support and over the long term as prospects are identified and cultivated for future major gifts. The LG Officer will also solicit up to 10 newly-qualified Major Gifts prospects (with giving capacity of $100K+) per year.
Bachelor degree and 4+ yearsâ™ related experience (e.g., fundraising, research, sales, marketing, management, etc.), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven to identify/cultivate/solicit/steward prospects with the potential to give both at the $10K-$100K level and at the $100K+ level.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications. Planning, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Comfort in dealing with a wide range of University constituencies and with individuals of considerable social status and affluence is required.
Ability to apply good judgment; tact and discretion is required to deal with highly confidential information.
Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) along with demonstrated comfort in dealing with calendar programs and the Internet.
Must be a âœself-starterâ with the ability to work independently as well as on a highly collaborative team.
This position is integral to the organizational, professional, and financial success of the department and the University. Decisiveness, trustworthiness, discretion, and creativity are daily requirements of this position. Commitment to working in a team environment is essential. This position requires travel and the incumbent must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
