The Department of Animal Sciences at Purdue University seeks a tenure-track faculty position in quantitative genetics and genomics with emphasis in research (primary) and teaching (secondary).
Rank and Salary: Assistant/Associate Professor, Academic Year (9-month) appointment. Opportunities for summer salary exist. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate should develop a nationally and internationally recognized program that elucidates and applies genetics and genomics to improve relevant traits in domestic animals. Research should link quantitative genetics, animal breeding, epigenetics or regulation to functional and phenotypic variation. Graduate student training in genetics and collaborative research activities that address foundational or emerging issues in production, nutrition, well-being, reproduction or biomedical models will be expected. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to undergraduate courses in genetics and develop a new graduate level course in contemporary genetic or genomics topics.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral level degree in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Animal Sciences, or related field with additional employment experience beyond the PhD degree.
