Are you passionate about using data in a mission-driven organization? The Performance Analyst works with teams of program staff and agency leadership to use data to improve outcomes for children and families. As the Performance Analyst, you will help define program outcomes, research best practices, design and implement data collection strategies, and analyze program performance. Your work will help to improve program impact for children and families being served across Illinois.
Work with teams of program staff and management to define outcomes, develop and implement data collection strategies and systems, analyze outcome data, and use performance data to improve program impact.
Design and implement or modify existing evaluation procedures, data collection instruments, and information systems used for data collection.
Develop database queries and reports to extract necessary data.
Prepare data reports that clearly summarize and visualize findings and methodology for regular program impact reviews.
Carry out literature reviews to inform program decisions.
Promote agency learning and adoption of industry best-practices for data use, program evaluation, and performance management.
Bachelor’s Degree in a human services or public policy/affairs/administration field required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of statistics, research methodology, and program evaluation required.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Ability to effectively facilitate statewide meetings with all levels of agency staff (from frontline staff to agency Vice Presidents).
Experience with project management, including proven ability to work well in a team and matrix-management environment and effectively implement project management strategies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and statistical software.
Experience designing, documenting, and building out information systems, database queries, and data reports. Experience in a web-based data reporting environment, such as Business Objects, a plus.
Knowledge of basic principles of a relational database and experience building simple databases and developing queries preferred.
Proven skills in reviewing, cleaning, analyzing, and applying data and evidence.
Ability to travel to program sites on occasion.
