Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) We are looking for a Data Science leader to join our Dublin Hub to help drive value and efficiencies from one of the world's richest health-care datasets. You will lead a large, international team of Data Scientists and deployment programmers on the development and delivery of large and complex analytical projects for healthcare Payment Integrity claim / case / membership detection. You and your team will have access to modern analytics infrastructure and technologies and the support of established data engineering and production development teams to see your models realized on a regular basis. Primary Responsibilities: Lead a large Data Scientist team to develop machine learning based solutions, discover business insights, and provide solutions and recommendations to solve business problems through the use of machine learning, statistical and visualization techniques Leading the predictive model development and production deployment team Develops innovative and effective approaches to solve complex analytical problems in healthcare Be a thought - leader and expounder of data science methods and applications Specifying the integration and preparation of large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating results Work with clients, our internal consulting team and business stakeholders to assess business opportunities to provide the predictive analytics support to Payment Integrity Operation functions Defines the validity of business problems and needs and turn these opportunities into predictive analytics projects to solve these problems and needs Provide the strategic vision for the area and contributes to the overall Advanced Analytic Lab strategy Develop the processes and policies for the Data Science team including, but not restricted to, model quality review, development process, tool selection and usage, data management and control Develops and/or provides input on the development of business metrics for the overall project to show improvements (contribution to the improvement should be monitored initially and over multiple iterations) on savings, false positive rates, and model predictive power and stability Communicate analytics results and predictive models to business partners and clients. Provide ongoing tracking and monitoring of performance of statistical models and recommends ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms that lead to findings, including new information. Improves organizational performance through the application of original thinking to existing and emerging methods, processes, products and services Employs sound judgment in determining how innovations will be deployed to produce return on investment. Required Qualifications: PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics etc.) Extensive experience in quantitative analysis / data science in a business or academic context Proven experience leading teams of Data Scientists and production model deployment at a Senior Level Experience working with fraud detection and risk models Experience of large - scale distributed computing environments (Hadoop and related tools) Significant experience with Python, R, Scala or other open - source analytics languagesPreferred Qualifications: Experience of healthcare and its associated data Experience with deep learning, graph analytics, unsupervised learning methods and natural language processing Significant communication and stakeholder management experienceCareers with Optum.
