The Research Assistant providesassistance collecting and processing research data for a youth and mentalhealth project. This position uses screening instruments to record relevantdata from records of youth in the juvenile justice system.
Conducts data collection procedures accurately, with minimal supervision and discretion.
Follows protocol for access to the paper records and handle records as appropriate.
Utilizes screening instruments to perform assessments and link information in the records to categories in the data collection instrument.
Uses established data collection procedures and methods to review the paper records and code the instruments as trained.
Completes assigned training opportunities, as scheduled, including: an overview of the research project; review of the data collection instruments and proper protocols used throughout the project; and significant practice in utilizing instruments.
Participates in periodic research team meetings to discuss data collection, including the status of the project and any concerns about data quality and logistics of data collection at the site.
