Posting Summary: The Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia is seeking a Senior Data Specialist to perform sophisticated data management, analysis, and reporting responsibilities.
The Senior Data Specialist will be responsible for data collection, maintaining databases, and data analysis and reporting. In addition, the Senior Data Specialist will perform fiscal, statistical, and other studies and analyses to support the department, participate in the budget process, make recommendations for process improvements for daily operating procedures, and provide leadership and training to the Data Analyst, as needed.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, healthcare management or related field. In addition, qualified candidates must possess at least six years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, such as a Master's degree with at least two years of experience.
Computer experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required, including strong Excel skills, and refined skills in automated spreadsheet systems.
Preferred candidates will have a master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare management or a related degree. Preferred candidates will also have at least eight years of experience in an accounting or finance function. Experience in a health care environment is preferred.
Advanced skills in automated spreadsheet systems and accounting software is preferred. Candidates with the ability to query, run reports, and enter data into database system, as well as knowledge of reporting systems such as Discoverer, Oracle financial modules, Clarity, UBI, and Vivid applications are also preferred.
This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.
