Posting Summary: The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks an Instructional Design Specialist to join its Instructional Design and Assessment team.
The Instructional Design Specialist contributes to the success of Darden online education initiatives by supporting the development, implementation, delivery and maintenance of online courses in business and related areas. The Instructional Designer implements pedagogical best practices and suggests ways to enhance the effectiveness of courses through technological solutions.
Duties and responsibilities include: Collaborate with staff and faculty in the design, development, scheduling, delivery and evaluation of online courses; Assist in developing engaging course materials and associated assessments; Manage course implementation in various learning management systems and environments; Analyze information from courses to help refine, revise and update content

Preferred Specific Degree/Training: Masters in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related field
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: Experience with instructional design and assessment
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Professional experience in higher education working with faculty in the areas of: Instructional design and assessment Online course design, development and assessment Developing support ID materials and documentation to assist to faculty

Required Computer Applications: Demonstrated expertise using online Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard and Canvas to develop course content; this includes proficiency with using the various tools within the LMS systems to design course content or assessments Knowledge of Quality Matters, OLC and similar online rubrics
