Oversee the building management of 7+ FAS buildings, including administrative and classroom buildings.
Organizes and directs the day-to-day activities of the custodial staff, mail-clerk, building trades, and the numerous contractors.
Serves as the building contact with University Departments including Police and Security, Campus Services, Planning, HUIT, DCE, Commencement, Accessible Education Office and outside vendors.
Works closely with Department Administrators, Faculty, Deans and other departmental staff. Responsible for developing and tracking annual building operations budgets, and management of long term maintenance planning database.
Inputs and tracks work orders via web based system.
Manages small to midsize construction projects including capital projects up to $800,000.
Provide assistance and support to capital project managers.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining access control system. Monitors DDC and CCure systems regularly. Monitors the consumption of energy and purchased utilities within the building(s), noting and correcting areas of waste, or unnecessary consumption.
Works closely with OPR & P and Harvard University Office for Sustainability staff to implement best operations and maintenance practices, and to actively participate in FAS greenhouse gas and energy reduction efforts and goals.
Responds to emergency situations as appropriate during both working and off-hours.
Performs other related tasks as required.

Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary
Advanced education and/or technical training beyond high school. 8+ years' experience in the management of physical facilities, including vendor and/or staff supervision experience.
Excellent communication skills; ability to assess needs, set priorities, and deal with stressful situations. Computer skills necessary, including proficiency in work order systems, daily maintenance, invoice processing, budget and payroll management. Must enjoy working with students. Experience in the management of physical facilities in a University setting preferred. Perform daily physical activity, including walking to and from various buildings, climbing multiple sets of stairs and walking from room to room on each floor to inspect the physical condition of the building, required.
