LabX: A Hybrid Accelerator for Student Research is an online platform for global science education that not only integrates the best of digital instruction and interactivity, but also connects students, teachers, and alumni in an online learning community for sharing and collaboration.
The LabX Secondary School Implementation and Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) Site Coordinator will work under the direction of the Secondary School Instructional Design Manager and with the Instructional Design and Program Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating on and off-site filming of secondary school student and teacher participants to create module content. Another primary responsibility will be assisting in the planning and execution of on-site secondary school teacher and student workshops for ABE content design and dissemination of LabX resources.
The LabX Secondary School Implementation and ABE Site Coordinator will play a key role in building and maintaining the relationship between LabX and ABE/secondary school biotechnology/life sciences teachers and students. This position will assist in gathering insight from ABE teachers and students to inform the development of LabX to ensure its ability to provide pre-lab preparation through learning pathways on an online platform where students and undergraduates alike can communicate, share resources, and enhance their knowledge base of practical lab skills and associated basic science concepts.
The LabX Secondary School Implementation and ABE Site Coordinator will assist with the planning and execution of ABE sessions and intensive professional development workshops for Master ABE teachers aimed at content development for the LabX platform. The LabX Secondary School Implementation and ABE Site Coordinator will also assist the Secondary School Instructional Design Manager with recruiting, educating and creating a community of secondary school teachers to increase their comfort with and knowledge of laboratory techniques; increase ability to prepare students for meaningful laboratory experiences; curate content resources and improve access for students; increase connectedness to other teachers and the broader scientific community; and improve ability to show students real-world scientists in action. The LabX Secondary School Implementation and ABE Site Coordinator will also be responsible for the recruitment of ABE teachers and students to assist in the development of LabX video resources.
This position is for a 4-year term, renewable upon available funding.

Five or more years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred along with research and biotechnology laboratory experience.
