The Business and Risk Analyst will perform risk and business analysis functions for NU-Q. The Analyst will lead projects and work to understand, assess and address strategic, operational and regulatory risks, recommending measures to mitigate them and assist with their implementation. The Analyst coordinates insurance and assists with compliance initiatives. The Analyst will work closely with internal personnel and external educational and industry experts as well as expert consultants.
Serve as business analyst and project manager for NU-Q initiatives, including: support/creation of policies and procedures, participation/lead of task forces or committees, research/analysis, and others.
Analyze and assess existing and emerging strategic, operational and regulatory risks, recommending measures to mitigate them to CFO and COO and assist with implementation of policy and control measures.
Coordinate student travel safety reviews and recommendations.
Serve as NU-Q’s risk management liaison to Evanston campus and the Qatar Foundation, working together to assess and manage NU-Q’s insurance portfolio.
Support and lead compliance and procedural initiatives to ensure alignment with regulations and policy.
Facilitating or conducting training for NU-Q personnel in risk management and compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or equivalent combination of training & experience.
years’ experience working in business analysis, project management, risk management, compliance risk assessment, audit or similar fields within the education sector.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate thoughts effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with a variety of internal and external personnel.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
5 to 7 years of work experience in business analysis, project management, risk management, or related field within the education sector.
Experience managing relationships with vendor or other outside organizations.
Ability to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, student and administrators.
Demonstrated experience managing an insurance portfolio.
Demonstrate experience working in compliance assessment activities.
