As a Senior Business Architect and Consultant you will work closely with the StepWise program on the StepWise Roadmap and alignment to commercial sales and implementation. This role is a senior role with the successful candidate having both strong communication and leadership skills for both internal staff and client implementations. The candidate will have hands on approach which will include working with the Stepwise designer tools and other staff to ensure successful delivery of roadmap initiatives. Primary Responsibilities:Use expertise in rating systems - as a consultant, super user, or technical design/implementation subject matter expert Use expertise and understanding of the payer sales process including the roles of employers/groups, brokers and sales Use expertise with user interface design and/or workflow design automation Hands-on professional experience in using Excel and SQL-based systems to solve business problems/achieve clients' expectations Understanding of industry issues, changes, and potential impacts and opportunities for the StepWise consulting team Able to understand our clients' business and place within the market, and act as a main point of contact both during a project and after implementation is complete Able to clearly and understandably articulate goals and expectations, relating them to the client's business mission and direction Capable of managing a variety of issues while driving momentum of key projects Able to direct segments of work and manage deliverables Consultative and capable of meeting multiple project deadlines with minimal supervision Establishes trust and credibility at all levels of the organization Serves as a subject matter expert for others Utilizes experience presenting material to peers and clients Communicates clearly either over the phone or in person Tailor language to the audience, initiates appropriate communications with others, is tactful and listens well Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed Works with less structured, more complex issues
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or a related degree or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience in healthcare field either working with payers, brokers or with commercial products sold into the healthcare space 5+ years of working with payers Experience working with the StepWise Suite Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, calculations, macros, etc. Advanced level of SQL and databases (Access, SQL Server, Oracle etc) Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an Underwriting and/or Actuarial role Experience with user interface design and/or workflow designCareers with Optum.
