Responsibilities will include assuming the lead analyst role for the rating of US RMBS transactions and other securitizations of mortgage-related collateral. The analysis will include analyzing collateral pools, deal structures and cash flows using Moody's in-house models, Excel and other quantitative and qualitative methods to formulate independent credit opinions and present them to rating committees. The analysis will also include reviewing legal documents and third party due diligence reports. Responsibilities will also include performing reviews of originators & servicers and enhancing existing analytical models. The candidate is also expected to publish timely, insightful and in-depth research and transaction reports, interact effectively with market participants and speak knowledgeably at conferences and investor briefings.

The Department / Team:
The successful candidate will join our Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) team in New York City, which is responsible for rating RMBS transactions and performing servicer and originator assessments.
MBA or Master's Degree in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics. At least 2-3 years finance-related analytical experience, preferably involving residential mortgage products and the mortgage lending industry. Experience performing credit analysis is a positive. Strong academic record (both graduate and undergraduate). Solid Microsoft Excel skills mandatory; knowledge of additional statistical packages, programming language (VBA), Microsoft Access, SQL and database analysis is a positive. Knowledge of, and practical experience in, financial/bond markets and cash flow modelling preferred. Strong oral and written communication capabilities, ability to manage multiple projects, work closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate, detailed work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is a must.
