What is the Corporate Credit team responsible for?
Our Corporate Credit Research team performs independent credit research into assigned sectors and companies and makes recommendations to our portfolio managers. As a Research Analyst in our London office you'll be a key member of our global credit team, focused on European investment grade and/or high yield issuers. You'll work closely with portfolio managers and analysts in London and other Franklin Templeton offices across the globe, sharing investment ideas, industry insights, and market information.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Corporate Credit Research Analyst?
Perform thorough, well-supported and concise fundamental research
Conduct independent research by speaking with company management and industry contacts
Compile data from multiple sources to develop detailed financial models
Present investment research findings, ideas and recommendations to Portfolio Managers
Regularly interact with fixed income team members across regions
Qualifications What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Bachelor's degree required, an MBA or advanced education would be advantageous
Current or prior experience as a credit analyst
CFA designation or progress toward obtaining preferred
Strong working knowledge of fixed income securities and financial markets
Buy-side experience preferred; will also consider candidates with rating agency or sell-side experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate financial analysis and recommendations
Solid analytical and organizational skills; desire to work in a market-driven environment
Ability to build detailed financial models
Proficiency with Bloomberg and all Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel
