Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital is a freestanding, not-for-profit, 102-bed rehabilitation hospital located on Chicago's West Side and a proud member of Sinai Health System. Schwab was the first fully licensed and accredited rehabilitation hospital in the Midwest.
Today, Schwab continues to offer a therapeutic environment of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for adults and children.Schwab has a rehabilitation-focused short-term sub-acute unit and also offers seven treatment gyms featuring state-of-the-art equipment, private treatment rooms, a warm-water indoor therapy pool, and an award-winning therapeutic rooftop garden.
Our intensive inpatient rehabilitation program schedules each patient for a minimum of three hours of therapy on five or more days a week. Patients who qualify for inpatient rehabilitation must have a need for 24-hour care by a physician and nurse who specialize in rehabilitation nursing.
OP Manager of Rehab Services performs day-to-day administrative tasks for department and for supervision of staff. Maintains responsibility for staff education, orientation, competency planning, supply maintenance, writing performance appraisals, and establishment of daily staffing levels. Performs operating and capital budget planning and administration and assists in stewardship of department and organization resources.Continuously looks for ways to improve the department's clinical quality, operational efficiency, and communication that fulfill the mission of Sinai Health System.
Gives appropriate supervision and direction to Lead Therapy staff; supports and encourages staff to pursue continuous growth and professional learning; fosters career growth and considers succession planning.
Reinforces Patient Satisfaction and Customer Services standards; performs Service Recovery when needed. Monitors PRC scores and establishes subsequent action plans when needed.
Oversees Lead Therapists in coordination of daily staffing levels, taking into account volumes and regulatory needs of each area within Sinai Health System, as well as departmental capacity. Communicates with Therapy managers across the system.
Communicates effectively with Referral Sources (e.g. SMG, Access, LCHC, Ortho Clinic, etc.) and strives to maintain Physician Satisfaction with Schwab Outpatient Therapy services and processes.
Professional degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or Audiology from an accredited program. PTA and COTA candidates will be considered if possessing advanced degree (MHA/MBA, etc).
Three years as a staff therapist: PT, OT, SLP, Audiologist, PTA, or COTA (see above).
Two years in Lead or Supervisor position.
One year in leadership position in OP setting; good knowledge of OP Practice.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Goal oriented with desire to grow professionally.
Demonstrated human resource/talent management abilities.
