The Administrative Director for the Film Study Center (FSC) in the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies (VES) reports to the Faculty Director of the Film Study Center and the Director of Administration for VES. This position has direct supervisory responsibility for two positions.
This position is responsible for designing and implementing FSC programs such as workshops, field trips and exhibitions.
This position will provide oversight for the Critical Media Practice (CMP) as well as advising graduate students; overseeing the selection and support of FSC fellows and initiating and fostering relationships within Harvard. He/she will devise and implement policies regarding allocation of equipment to University constituencies; design audio-video architecture for FSC facilities, including planning and implementing upgrades, as well as research, configure, and manage purchasing of audio and video production equipment and post production computer workstations. The Administrative Director for the FSC will manage inventory of production equipment, including overseeing repairs; maintaining hardware and software post production/computer editing systems in multiple locations, and coordinating access to these facilities.
This position will work with VES financial staff to insure budgetary accountability.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in film/video/sound making environment.
Must have strong knowledge of the film and video making process from pre through post production.
Must have three years of administrative experience that includes collaboration and advising on film projects.
Proficiency in technical aspects of all video, film and recording hardware and software.
Advanced degree in Visual Arts or Anthropology.
