Professional development and advancement is a significant reason that prospective students join the TMMBA/Hybrid MBA programs. This position plays a vital role in providing professional advising and resources to students.
Advising, Counseling and Analysis
Develop, organize and implement one-on-one and small-group counseling and advising for TMMBA and Hybrid MBA students.
Review, monitor, analyze and report student advising statistics, industry data and event effectiveness and trends from year to year. Using this information, administer changes that will enhance the advising initiatives.
Liaison with MBA Programs and other Foster staff members to ensure University and Business School policies and procedures are followed and communicated and that there is a continued sharing of best practices.
Analyze and monitor recruiting opportunities that would benefit the program. Develop independent decisions for improvements and provide expert advice and implement plan to upper management about best practices.
Represent the program at UW Foster School events and other community business functions.
Identify and partner with appropriate local and regional business associations so as to have the best programs available.
Develop and administer policies for advising procedures and requirements.
Conceptualize, develop, and conduct development workshops
Plan events and workshops (F2F and virtual) that focus on sharing knowledge and building students' skills in transition, oal-setting planning/management topics that are current and relevant to working professionals.
Recruit workshop and student programming subject matter experts when necessary.
Track registrations and attendance and provide data to management.
Follow up with workshop attendees.
Admissions and Recruiting
Review applications and offer feedback to admissions team.
Attend and develop recruiting events (F2F and virtual) to support admission initiatives.
Develop familiarity with and recommend innovations and improvements for TMMBA and Hybrid MBA offerings, processes, and content.
Write materials for use in student advisement and on learning platform.
Collect, review, and analyze data related to coaching sessions; identify changing needs and patterns; share findings when needed.
Complete administrative aspects that support the above responsibilities. This involves scheduling events, preparing promotional materials, managing student communications, monitoring events registration, etc.
Collaborate with and support initiatives as needed and directed by the Senior Associate Director.

Bachelor's Degree in business or related fields
Minimum of four years professional experience that includes coaching or counseling responsibilities with students who are working professionals.
Knowledge of the Seattle professional employment market. Commitment to exceptional service to students and alumni with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Exhibit strong leadership skills to manage priorities and refine and expand processes, programs, and offerings that directly impact the advancement and job search success of TMMBA and Hybrid MBA students.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
MBA or master's degree in a related field is highly preferred.
Experience counseling an MBA population in a career, recruitment or corporate setting.
Working knowledge of social media and career assessment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of corporate MBA hiring practices.
Knowledge of case interviewing.
Strong understanding of MBA career paths and career issues.
