The Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is recognized for its outstanding reputation in education, research and patient care. The section provides comprehensive care in Pulmonary Lung Transplantation, Adult Cystic Fibrosis, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, General Pulmonary, and Interventional Pulmonary at BCM-affiliated hospitals and clinics. The division has 27 fellows in three fellowship programs, including Pulmonary / Critical Care, Critical Care, Sleep, as well as a National Institutes of Health T-32 training program.
We are seeking candidates for three faculty positions. In all cases, resident and fellow teaching and scholarly pursuits are expected. Candidates are expected to fulfill the clinical, research and educational missions of our section, and should qualify for academic appointment at BCM at the Assistant / Associate Professor level.
Pulmonary / Critical Care / Sleep Faculty. Responsibilities include outpatient Pulmonary clinics and inpatient Pulmonary Service. Opportunities for Critical Care time can be negotiated. Sleep trained physicians will also join our Sleep Medicine practice.
Critical Care faculty. Responsibilities include Critical Care services in the Medical, Coronary, Cardiothoracic surgery, and Obstetric Intensive Care Units as part of our Critical Care practice.
Adult Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonologist. Responsibilities include coordination and optimization of care for adult cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, in one of the largest Adult CF centers in the country. Duties will include outpatient CF and Pulmonary clinics and inpatient CF /Pulmonary Service rounding.
