The Compliance Officer position exist to functionin conjunction with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, andStudent Rights/Title IX Coordinator in the overall management of institutionalcompliance covering faculty, staff, students, medical residents/fellows andpost docs. This position provides advanced level administrativeprofessional direction and counsel in areas requiring specialized training,provides work direction and guidance to designated personnel as an investigatorof complaints, coordinator of programs, and presenter on diversity andinclusion.
Investigates and resolves complaints (i.e., informal; formal) ofunlawful discrimination/harassment which includes interviewing witnesses,analyzing evidence, and making determinations.
Leads efforts to move beyond compliance and toward seamless access inhiring and enrollment.
Collaborates with University offices, governmental agencies, andadvocacy groups to inform decision-making and ensure University compliance withstate and federal mandates.
Monitors and reports activity in HR Acuity to universitydepartments/officials and assists with data reporting provided to the UTSystem, federal or state agencies.
Conducts training sessionsparticularly for small and large groups and on EEO/AA, Title IX, and diversityand inclusion related topics.
Analyzes complex workplaceconflict issues and concerns brought to the Office of Equity and Diversity thatmay warrant utilizing conflict resolution and mediation to present a range ofoptions to resolve conflict by candidly discussing problems and issues andassisting the person(s) to analyze options.
With campus partners, leadthe creation, implementation, and assist in facilitation of social justiceprogramming for faculty, staff, administration, students, and communitypartners.
Works independently onprimary projects related to the assigned administrative areas of responsibilitywith supervision that encompasses compliance, EEO/AA assurance, investigations,information management, student conduct and training.
